I’m often scared
❦
I’m often scared
Of what might happen or what is to come
As a child I thought,
Adults are never supposed to be scared
I don’t feel like an adult anyway
Even if I’m turning 22 in 13 more days
I’m scared, of being an adult
And all the responsibilities to come
All the uncertainty and unshakable change
I don’t even know why I’m afraid
I write a lot since recently
Maybe I’m scared too much
To start again or fall behind?
I’m not sure what to decide
Demons are real now
Alive in very human form
I can see them, hear them
But do I have to be afraid of them?
All we can do is our best twin
Regardless of what we know or don’t know
For all the gods that I don’t believe in,
Dear universe, help me find life again
